Recently, CMS made 3 changes to the dietary guidelines. According
to the rule, the CMS allowed eligible providers ( EP) and qualified nutritional
specialists to order the patient's díet, which includes therapeutic díet,
supplemental feeding and enteral nutrition. CMS also issued a deficiency report
which showed that physcians or qualified providers received 147 deficiencies in
the dietary standards.
Understanding quality measures and/or coding for them will
make the difference between a successful practice or a FAILED Audit.
